Maroela Pub & Grill & Game Trails (“Maroela”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and when you book with us, how we use it and the rights you have under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are
Maroela is a game farm, lodge, restaurant and venue on the N11, 6 km past Loskop Dam, Groblersdal, Limpopo. You can reach us at admin@maroelagametrails.co.za or on 082 570 2637.
What we collect
- Details you give us when you book or enquire: your name, phone number, email address, dates, number of guests and any notes you add.
- Details you share when you message us on WhatsApp, email, Facebook or Instagram.
- Information needed for your stay, such as guest names and dietary or accessibility needs, when you choose to share it.
The booking form on this website does not store your details on a server. When you press “Send on WhatsApp” or “Send by email”, the form prepares a message on your own device, and nothing is sent until you choose to send it from WhatsApp or your email app.
How we use it
- To confirm and manage your table, game drive, stay, wedding or function booking.
- To contact you about your booking, changes to trading hours or weather-related changes to game drives.
- To meet our legal, accounting and safety obligations.
We do not sell your information. We only send you marketing messages if you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We share information only when it is needed to look after your booking, for example with a caterer, decorator or photographer you have asked us to arrange, or when the law requires it. WhatsApp, email providers and social media platforms process messages under their own privacy policies.
Cookies and third parties
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. The map on our contact section is provided by Google Maps, which may set its own cookies when it loads. Links to Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp take you to those services, which have their own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
We keep booking information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as required by law (for example, financial records). After that it is deleted or de-identified.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to its use for marketing. Email admin@maroelagametrails.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are unhappy with how we handled your request, you may contact the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
Children
Our bookings are made by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children except where a parent or guardian provides it for a family booking.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
